Hobby quality rc planes have high RMP electric motors and nitro engines. Some of them can reach speeds of up to 150 mph. We pesent two different types of plane models: ready to fly (RTF) and almost ready to fly (ARF) models.

The ARF model plane comes from the manufacturer with most of the building works  complete. Most of the time, major sections, such as the fuselage and wings, are pre-built. Almost all of the hardware and accessories are included and installed. An electric almost ready to fly model may include a motor. A gas powered ARF model rarely comes with an engine. Although ARF model rc planes cost a little more than a kit, they are the ideal choice for beginning rc plane pilots or modelers who have limited time and building skills.

Rtf model rc planes come as an ARF most of the time, but includes all the equipment needed to fly it. Standard features will include the radio system, a motor or engine that is installed at the factory. A video and batteries for the radio are also included. A nitro gas powered RTF model plane should include things such as a fuel bottle, or a glow starter. An electric RTF model should include a charger, a rechargeable battery,a mechanical or electric speed control, or auto cut-off.An RTF model plane costs more than a kit or an ARF model plane most of the time.

It is completelly up to you to decide whether you want an RTF or ARF model, or built-it-yourself kits, electric powered,or nitro gas powered.

DHC-2 Beaver ARF Park Flyer

The Beaver was created by De Havilland of Canada to be the perfect bush plane. Its designers knew a lot about wilderness flying living in the shadow of the Great White North and built the Beaver to be exceptionally rugged and powerful. Entering service in 1946, it quickly established itself on backwoods routes throughout Canada and Alaska. It went wherever the roads didn't, including lakes when retrofitted with floats. This airborne pack mule still flies in remote areas today, carrying fisherman to weeklong getaways or island-hopping tourists in the Caribbean. Wherever people are looking to enjoy a secluded slice of the great outdoors, chances are a Beaver is taking them there. It's only fitting that such a plane be GWS's newest park flyer subject.
